GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Under general supervision, the purpose of this position is to perform district-based duties associated with processing payroll-related records and providing customer service support. The Pay Type 10 Payroll Clerk is responsible for maintaining payroll files, entering payroll data, documenting payroll information, answering phone inquiries, and preparing paperwork for payroll processing. This position is limited to a maximum of 29 hours per week.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responds to internal and external customers in a timely, accurate, courteous, and empathetic manner, representing the school district in a positive manner
Performs data entry of payroll information, and other payroll-related data
Maintains physical payroll files and records
Assists with the preparation of payroll documentation and other payroll-related forms
Separates and organizes incoming and outgoing payroll-related paperwork
Performs other duties as assigned, within the scope of the position and within the 29-hour per week limitation
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED; supplemented by up to one (1) year of previous experience in clerical or administrative work, with a preference for payroll or accounting experience; or any equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential job functions.

ADA COMPLIANCE:
Physical Ability: Ability to perform sedentary to light work, with occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of objects up to 10 pounds
Sensory Requirements: Ability to visually perceive and discriminate, as well as the ability to communicate orally
Environmental Factors: Tasks are performed in a standard office environment with minimal exposure to adverse conditions
