Salary Schedule

Palm Lake Elementary School is seeking a dedicated, energetic, and caring Cafeteria Monitor to join our wonderful school family! At Palm Lake, we pride ourselves on maintaining a warm, supportive, and family-oriented environment where our excellent students and families come first. If you love working with children and want to make a positive impact on their daily school experience, we would love to have you on our team. Hours are 11am -1:30pm Daily (all days that school is in session) Pay is $15.00 per hr. 

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

• Student Supervision: Monitor students during their lunch periods to ensure a safe, orderly, and positive dining environment.

• Behavior Management: Help maintain manageable noise and behavior levels in the cafeteria using positive reinforcement and school-aligned expectations.

• Transition Management: Oversee and manage student tables during the arrival and dismissal of designated lunch times to ensure smooth transitions.

• Student Assistance: Enthusiastically assist students with practical needs, such as opening food items, juice boxes, or condiments.

• Safety & Cleanliness: Monitor the cafeteria area for spills or safety hazards, coordinating with custodial staff or helping wipe down tables as needed between lunch shifts.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Previous experience working with children in a school, childcare, or community setting is a plus.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact positively with students, staff, and administrators.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, and move quickly to respond to student needs.

• Must pass standard district background screening requirements.
