Under direct supervision, the purpose of the position is to provide staff support in an educational or child care environment, performing paraprofessional work in assisting teachers and pre-kindergarten age students. Employees in this classification work with children individually or in small groups by providing basic instruction in abilities and skills developmentally appropriate to pre-school age children. Position is responsible for assisting teachers with transporting children to various scheduled activities, i.e., lunch, rest time, restrooms. Essential functions as outlined herein are performed according the needs of the assigned teacher(s). Performs related work as directed.

Responsibility areas include, but are not necessarily limited to training of crew leaders and custodians, developing daily and weekly cleaning work schedules, routine inspecting of facilities and grounds for hazardous conditions, and maintaining adequate supply inventories. Position oversees and participates in all facets of work under charge. Performs related work as directed.
Under administrative direction, the purpose of the position is to perform maintenance, landscaping, herbicide/pesticide application, irrigation, and supervisory work in the planning, organizing, and coordinating of projects and preventative maintenance. Employees in this classification perform work with considerable independence of action and latitude for decision-making within program guidelines under the direction of a classified Trades Tech or an administrative level supervisor. Under administrative direction, the purpose of the position is to perform administrative and supervisory work in the planning, organization, coordination, and direction of school district maintenance, repair and construction activities associated with one (1) or more of the craft civil or mechanical trades. Such areas include, but are not limited to, HVAC, carpentry, painting, electrical, asphalt and concrete, refrigerant recovery and recycling, roofing, pest control, horticulture, property control, metal fabrication, and communication systems. The classification is distinguished from that of Technician I by the advanced degree of technical knowledge and skills applied to the work. Incumbents may be assigned to a specific functional area such as construction management. Essential functions as outlined herein are performed according to the area of assignment. Under general direction, the purpose of the position is to perform skilled to advanced trades work related to various installation, maintenance and carpentry repair tasks and projects for the school district. Employees in this classification function independently, as assigned, or in a crew leader capacity for trades personnel engaged in various trades related facilities maintenance projects. Work areas include, but are not necessarily limited to, new construction, outdoor structures, and interior facilities. Position provides lead worker instruction and assistance to lesser skilled district trades and facilities maintenance personnel, as well as coordination and delegation of project tasks. Under direction, the purpose of the position is to daily operate an assigned school bus on an assigned transportation route for the school district. Employees in this classification are responsible for the safe transportation, loading and unloading of students to and from destinations, and ensure all bus activities support the safety and welfare of all persons. Work is performed in conjunction with bus monitoring personnel, and includes ensuring appropriate securing of students and the provision of required assistance to students with special medical needs.
