Under general supervision, the purpose of the position is to perform corrective and scheduled maintenance in various craft disciplines. Work may involve the use of diverse maintenance skills and knowledge depending on the specific assignment to be performed. Essential tasks as outlined herein are performed according to the functional area of assignment at locations within the respective regional learning communities or other district locations. Under direction, the purpose of the position is to perform highly responsible custodial tasks for an assigned school of the district. Employees in this class are responsible for accomplishing a daily routine of custodial tasks that provide school personnel, students, and the public with an environmentally safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient place in which to work and conduct school activities. Responsibility areas include, but are not necessarily limited to daily unlocking and securing of facilities, routine inspection of facilities and grounds for hazardous conditions, and assuming crew leader duties when directed. Under direction, the purpose of the position is to provide training and instruction to new bus monitors to assist students with special needs and bus operators in all phases of commercial driver licensure. Employees in this classification are responsible for providing personnel with information and instruction concerning regulations governing the work and district policies and procedures. Position conducts bus operator duties as needed to assist in providing comprehensive route coverage. Performs related work as directed.

Under general direction, the purpose of the position is to maximize automotive vehicle, school bus, and automotive equipment operation through efficient repair and maintenance practices to extend the service life of each item. Employees in this classification perform intermediate to advanced mechanical repairs and rebuilds for both diesel and gasoline powered automotive vehicles and equipment, and are responsible for inspecting tasks upon completion for adherence to technical specifications and principles of safe vehicle operation. Employees in this classification may occasionally mentor/train new or less experienced technicians. Performs related work as directed.

Emphasis of the work is on diagnosing and analyzing vehicle problems and preventive maintenance; incumbents exercise judgment in referring major and/or complex service requirements to the shop garage.
