Under general direction, the purpose of the position is to maximize automotive vehicle, school bus, and automotive equipment operation through efficient repair and maintenance practices to extend the service life of each item. Employees in this classification perform intermediate to advanced mechanical repairs and rebuilds for both diesel and gasoline powered automotive vehicles and equipment, and are responsible for inspecting tasks upon completion for adherence to technical specifications and principles of safe vehicle operation. Under administrative direction, the purpose of the position is to perform district-based duties associated with coordinating and prioritizing departmental duties assigned to the Finance, Accounting or Accounts Payable departments which include reconciling master accounts and/or processing of off-cycle vendor payment and general funds expenditure reclassification requests. Employees in this classification perform at a coordinator/lead capacity and may assign and review work of others. Employees in this position are responsible for interpreting and implementing proper procedures, which must adhere to specific guidelines of the district and outside governmental agencies. Under general direction, the purpose of the position is to perform skilled to advanced trades work related to various installation, maintenance and carpentry repair tasks and projects for the school district. Employees in this classification function independently, as assigned, or in a crew leader capacity for trades personnel engaged in various trades related facilities maintenance projects. Work areas include, but are not necessarily limited to, new construction, outdoor structures, and interior facilities. Position provides lead worker instruction and assistance to lesser skilled district trades and facilities maintenance personnel, as well as coordination and delegation of project tasks. This position is within OCPS District Police-Communications and Records Unit (CRU). CRU serves as a critical communications resource and is responsible for coordinating district-wide police, public safety-related communications and the administration of law enforcement records. CRU’s Communications Center is operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week throughout the entire year.
The CRU Communication Specialist I will have one (1) year to be certified by the State of Florida’s Department of Health as 911 Public Safety Telecommunicators. Incumbents will be responsible for monitoring a range of enterprise-level security applications, systems and technologies, and coordinating a response to observed security-related incidents.

Position is responsible for ensuring provision of fresh, environmentally safe, and dehumidified cooled or heated conditioned air for the assigned region of the district.
