Under general direction, the purpose of this position is to perform district-based duties associated with processing business and other operational records. Some analysis of solutions to situations is necessary to complete work; department resource for procedural direction for support staff. This position is that of a team leader or of a position that utilizes a narrowly defined area of technical expertise. Employees in this classification are responsible for receiving and responding to complaints and inquiries from the public and assisting operators and monitors with required paper work. The Program Assistant, District ESE Specialist works under the supervision of the learning community behavior analysts (Administrator); district Program Specialist for behavior analysis within OCPS; or an ESE Director. The Program Assistant, District ESE Specialist will be itinerant and provide technical support throughout the district (ESE and general education classes), pertaining to students with severe cognitive and/or behavioral disorders. This includes all grade (Pre-K–12th) and age (3-22) levels. The Program Assistant, District ESE Specialist will collaborate with district personnel, principals, teachers, paraprofessionals and others as assigned by their supervisor. Under direction, the purpose of the position is to daily operate an assigned school bus on an assigned transportation route for the school district. Employees in this classification are responsible for the safe transportation, loading and unloading of students to and from destinations, and ensure all bus activities support the safety and welfare of all persons. Work is performed in conjunction with bus monitoring personnel, and includes ensuring appropriate securing of students and the provision of required assistance to students with special medical needs. Performs related work as directed.

Under general direction, the purpose of the position is to maximize automotive vehicle, school bus, and automotive equipment operation through efficient repair and maintenance practices to extend the service life of each item. Employees in this classification perform intermediate to advanced mechanical repairs and rebuilds for both diesel and gasoline powered automotive vehicles and equipment, and are responsible for inspecting tasks upon completion for adherence to technical specifications and principles of safe vehicle operation. Employees in this classification may occasionally mentor/train new or less experienced technicians. Performs related work as directed.

Emphasis of the work is on diagnosing and analyzing vehicle problems and preventive maintenance; incumbents exercise judgment in referring major and/or complex service requirements to the shop garage. Performs related work as directed.
